There is a 1 in 400 trillion chance you were given the gift of life. It is a miracle that you and I are looking at this article right now. I find that many people don’t think about life that way, but more should. Many people go through the motions and aren’t happy with their lives. The main thing is that even if life isn’t so great at the time, at least you are living.
Consider the science behind it all. The universe began with a Big Bang some 13.8 billion years ago, expanding into galaxies, stars, and planets. Earth, our pale blue dot, formed about 4.5 billion years ago. As well as so many things, your great, great, great, great-grandma and grandmother had to go right. I find it such a blessing that we get to live.
I use this idea to make sure I live my life to its fullest potential. There were so many things that could’ve gone wrong, and we wouldn’t be alive, so why not live it to the fullest? I really figured this out last year. Everyone says they are so happy they are alive, but they don’t use it. People can dream and do anything, yet they never do anything with that dream and end up doing something they hate. I don’t understand that. You only have an estimated 78.4 years on this Earth, and that is cut short for people all the time. A grave full of dead men is a grave full of men who thought they had more time, usually. So live your life to the fullest, don’t live a life of mediocrity.
Valuing life means embracing its beautiful dualities—the joys and sorrows. While many difficult things are happening on Earth, like war or starvation, there is still so much joy and happiness around us. That’s why I love cherishing simple pleasures: sharing laughter with friends or the excitement of discovering something new. These small moments are what truly make life a blessing for everyone.
These are the reasons I hold life in deep gratitude. Life is a precious blessing, something finite that you can never truly experience in the same way again once you have lived through it. This understanding makes every moment all the more valuable and meaningful to me, which is why it is so important to cherish each one. Life is a blessing to all of us; we would never know what it’s like if we were never lucky enough to be born.

When you stop getting angry after losing, you’ve lost twice. There’s always something to learn, and always room for improvement; never settle.” – Tyler Ninja Blevins
