We all have trouble getting gifts for any occasion, but whenit comes to Valentines day, it is a whole other world. While the holiday is often associated with romantic relationships, it is also a great opportunity to show your appreciation for family, friends, and others. Finding the perfect gift doesn’t have to mean spending all of your money and being stressed out. The best gifts are thoughtful, personal, and show effort.
A classic Valentines day gift is chocolate or candy. Freshman Kassidy Geist says,” I love the little hearts filled with chocolate; they are a staple in my house.” These gifts are so common because they are cheap and easy to find. They are also enjoyable to most. These gifts are usually shaped like hearts to make them “special”. If you are aiming to make the gift more personal, consider baking them a treat or buying their favorite sweet.
Another great and traditional gift is flowers. Roses are the most common flowers because they are the typical valentines day colors. Freshman Sophia Mehring says,”I love receiving flowers, they are so pretty and look great in my room.” Roses are not the only option; flowers like tulips, lilies, or daisies can be more unique. Flowers can symbolize care and affection, and can quickly brighten someones mood.
Personalized gifts are also excellent gifts. Items like picture frames, jewelry, or miscellaneous items that have a meaning to you can make the gift feel even more special. Freshman Willow Lovett says, “I love when people bring back old memories with homemade gifts, it makes them feel more special.” These gifts can bring back old memories and make the other person feel something.
Some people prefer receiving experience-based gifts. Experiences like going out to get ice cream, going to the park, watching a movie, or even planning a vacation allow people to spend quality time with one another. “When people take me to like get food or go to a movie, it feels more real than getting a piece of chocolate.” Freshman Tinley Bialas says. These gifts focus on stretching relationships rather than gaining new items.
For those on a budget, handmade gifts are just as meaningful. Handmade cards or letters are a great example of this option. These gifts show gratitude rather than money. They can prove one’s creativity and effort, which many people value.
At the end of the day, the perfect Valentine’s Day gift isn’t about the price. It’s about showing your comfort and care for those you love. No matter what, you give a heartfelt gift can make Valentine’s Day memorable for all.
