Rochester and Decatur JV boys basketball teams played in a tournament, at the Rochester Athletic Center (RAC) last Friday night, February seventh.
Six minutes in, Decatur is already on the scoreboard with 2 points. Then Rochester’s No. 20 Ayden White scores two points, tying the game. Rochester’s No. 1, Khornell Gregory, gets the ball and attempts to pass it down the court to No. 20 White. However, Decatur’s No. 10, Trae Ridley, blocks the pass. Rochester’s No. 1 Gregory then returns to No. 20 White, who takes a shot but misses.
Decatur’s No. 10 Ridley steals the ball and rushes down the court, passing it to Decatur’s No. 4, Brandon Jones, who heads toward the basket and passes back to No. 10 Ridley, however, Rochester’s No. 34, Finn Bruce, steals the ball!
With four minutes left in the first quarter, Rochester’s No. 34 Bruce scores a two-point shot, putting Rochester ahead 4-2. Bruce quickly grabs the ball and passes it to Rochester’s No. 32, Sean Plessa, who then passes to No. 20 White. White tosses the ball to Rochester’s No. 12, Reece Gade, who runs down the court and passes to No. 1 Gregory, but a foul is called.
Decatur’s No. 2, KT Thomas, starts with the ball, running across the court to make a two-point shot, tying the score at 4-4 with four minutes remaining.
