Rochester High School has increased ticket prices for football games this year. All tickets have gone up $3, previous prices were $5 for adults and $3 for veterans; they are now $8 for adults and $6 for veterans. Students will still get in free, this only applies at home games.
“The Rochester Board of Education voted to implement the new prices. They did so based on ticket prices at other area schools (district 186 had raised their rates the year prior to us to the same amount).”, High School Athletic Director, JR Boudouris said, explaining that ticket prices had not increased since 2010. Since then the cost of equipment, coaching, transportation, and officials has gone up. So the choice to raise prices was to compensate for the money spent on everything the sports require.
This year the athletic passes will be available again, a yearly purchase that gets you into every game. An individual, one person, pass is $100 and the family pass is $200. The passes work for every sport, it’ll get you into every game for any sport no matter the time of year. Boudouris recommends the passes for families or individuals attending multiple games yearly. Parents of students who do more than one sport are advised to consider purchasing a yearly athletic pass, it would most likely be more cost-effective.
“Specifically, for an individual who purchases the $100 individual pass,” Boudouris said, “If they plan on attending 13 or more varsity games in a school year, then the pass is a good value considering it’s $8 per varsity game admission for an adult.”
